February TBR

Hello Everyone,

My new years resolution to start up my blog again has taken awhile to get started and I can't even put it down to me reading too many books to have had time to write as I've read about 100 pages of one book and thats it. My goodreads reading goal of 30 books by the end of the year which I've had for the past 4 years and yet to achieve has already gotten of to a bad start as its currently at 0. So, its safe to say I haven't started this year as I mean to go on, or at least I hope I haven't. So, as of my writing of this (January 23rd) I resolve to write at least a post a month to this blog, have 5 followers on this blog (4 more to go), complete my reading goal of 30 books by the end of 2016 by reading at least 2 books a month and finally to start a project/find a hobby I enjoy and stick to it. Now, with 8 days to go of January I have  to post this and finish 2 books, easy! So, lets get started.

My first book I plan to read/finish is A Court of Thorns & Roses by Sarah J. Maas. I've been really looking forward to this book as I absolutely love the Throne of Glass series and so at least this book would tied me over until the next one came out. Also, its based on Beauty and the Beast which is one of my favourite Disney movies as Belle is probably my favourite princess. Now while I wouldn't say the book is bad, I'm not loving it as much as I thought I would. I just thought the minute I started reading the book I would dive straight into the world and love it but that was naive thinking on my part as it takes time to build and world and characters that you become invested in and I didn't feel the way I feel about the Throne of Glass series now, when I started reading it. Furthermore, I haven't been in the reading mood  lately and I kind of forced myself to read the book as I wanted to have read it by the time the second book was out and so, I did't have to worry about spoilers or if someone makes a reference on twitter I get. However, I am looking forward to picking it up again as I'm more in the mood to sit and explore and understand a new world and getting further into the story and getting to know the characters more as I feel once I get into it I'm going to love it. Additionally, Tashapolis said she liked it more than the ToG series so, we'll just have to wait and see.

For my second book I'm hoping to finish UnEnchanted by Chandra Hahn. Its a rather small book and is a nice quick easy read to help balance out a Sarah J, Maas book as well as help me to get out of the book slump I'm currently in. It centers around a girl who is descend from the brothers Grimm and has to live a bunch of unfinished fairy tales to complete them. As you can probably tell I'm on a bit of a fairy tale retelling kick at the minute as I wait for Once Upon A Time to come back on. That's pretty much all I can tell you so far about this book as I've only read 13 pages, but they were good 13 pages.

Finally, if I finish both of these books by the end of Feb I have a very large TBR pile/jar with about 5 books I want to read next to choose form but I think that might be another post.

Sorry this post is a bit rambley and poorly punctuated as well as written, but I just kind of want to get it up so, I can focus on the books and hopefully get into the groove of blog writing again. Also, if I'm not careful it'll be February and I'll have failed one of my goals already. So, any constructive comments on how I could improve this blog would be greatly appreciated as well as any ideas for future blog posts. Additionally, let me know whats in you February TBR Pile in the comments and until next time, Live, Laugh and Keep Reading.
